I think everybody but Paul Litch knows that's a cop-out.

Actually, I'm sure he knows that too.

Books purchase price is no longer being reimbursed by brulato. CGC will offer credit towards future submissions.

Sounds like CGC is basically encouraging current holders to try to sell their Ewert subs to the next unsuspecting buyer ... and just keep passing the gift along.

Go CGC! :applause:

$525? Good lord. Obviously someone isn't in too big of a hurry to wash their hands of it.

Actually, this book was first purchased in April of 2005 for $198, most likely from a jaenter Ebay sale.

Then it sold again in Sep 2008 for $300.

Thanks to www.gpanalysis.com Much obliged George!

There is NO "most likely" about it... it is a FACT.
  • Incredible Hulk #129 CGC 9.6 (0098437005) was sold by Ewert via eBay on April 14, 2005
  • The eBay auction item number was 6524284918
  • The final closing price was $197.50

And to make certain and/or clarify any doubt as to whether this book was submitted by Jason Ewert...

Just 14 sequential submission forms before the one used to submit the Hulk #129 was a TRIMMED copy of Journey Into Mystery #103, CGC 9.4, certification #0098423003.

It was sold by Ewert on eBay 10 days later. The eBay auction number was 6526451736.

So much has yet to be revealed about the manipulation events of the recent past. The information is there if you're of an inquisitive mind and have the mettle to conduct the necessary due diligence to uncover it. Education is the key and knowledge is your guide.

Don't let the words of the apparent apologist or complacent communicator discourage discovery. Conducted your own research and ask the probing question.

It is still your hobby so take an active roll.

It looks like Sterling Smith is working on a utility that allows you to simply enter a CGC cert. # and get word back that your book is or is not on a suspected invoice number.

We'll link to that utility once SS has ironed out the bugs. Thanks, Sterl!

At our end, we will continue to canvas major dealer sites, ebay, auction houses and collector sales forums to watch for appearances of these books on the open market.

I was just being sarcastic because people will constantly question the hard work being done here more then they'll question the situation that led to this great expose. :2cents:

Sterling is going above and beyond and should be commended for taking the bull by the horns as a concerned collector. :righton:

Question....

Should I post the next 100 books in the registry that appear on the suspect list, or should I just cut to the chase and post a list of all registry set owners with a suspect book in their collections?

Or.... wait another three years for CGC to make another post about the issue?

I'm on the fence on this one, Brad. Both options have benefits but I guess if I were pressed to answer I'd go with the next 100 books, only because some may twist the listing of the registry set owners into what they want to label as some sort of defamatory witch hunt. Either way the info you have needs to be put out there since it will not be addressed any other way so whichever you choose...go for it!

If I posted a list of registry holders, I would consider it a list of victims, who have not been aided by CGC. My only goal is to get CGC to get off their asses and act like a real company, with real responsibilities to their customers.

As if I ever really cared... ;)

But seriously... I will probably just add another 100 books to the public list and continue to contact collectors individually. We all know that CGC is going to continue to do exactly what they have been doing....

nothing.

I find it ridiculous that people would consider this a witch hunt of these dealers and collectors.

This is probably from the same insecure, head in the sand trolls that think I'm the boogie man coming back one day to steal another girl from the drama queen chat board from the socially disfunctional and all the while continue to think my trimming of a Tomahawk comic was a hoax.

Even when you slap them with truth they still find a way to apologize it away because they don't like the messanger. Just remember folks.....

Greed loves this kind moronic stubborness. :righton:

Now back to a happy life... log on in a week or two to see that there will probably be even more grading company sympathy and apologists

The list of Ewert submitted/sold books found in CGC Registry sets has now been expanded to show the first 250. More to come....

The impact you have had in stepping up to a plate that those in a better position to deal with have ducked is exemplary, Brad.
