Are you planning any comic-related pilgrimages?

I'm probably holding out for NYC, but I really would like to check out Baltimore sooner or later.

Anyone else planning on NYC?

I passed last year and when I heard how crowded it was, I didn't regret it. But for some crazy reason I am itching to go again.

Have you ever been to a Big Apple Carbonaro show recently? I wonder if they are worth the train ride down to Manhattan.

I might look at NYC this year, but I'm not 100% certain yet. I think it will depend on what projects I have going on at the time and whether or not I would use that event as an opportunity to make some headway.

Not in a long while actually. With our son (14 mos.) it's harder to get away on the weekends. I'm OK with that though, as I've been to plenty of them and it tends to be all the same dealers every time. The big NYCC is nice because there's usually some small-to-mid-size dealers who just do that one show.

I am looking forward to NYCC this year. Are you going to the Albany con this year, Steve?

The Montreal Comicon is September 14-16 this year. It was massive last year and I didn't even get in the day I tried to go (4 hour wait in the early afternoon). This year they are moving to a larger venue and will have more than a couple of ticket sellers. This show has grown incredibly over the last five years from a few fanboys like me to Montreal's premiere pop culture show.

http://www.montrealcomiccon.com/en/

Anybody from Rochester down to NYC and all points NE can get here in less than a day drive. Montreal is about 4 hours driving from Albany + getting through the boarder which can take anywhere from 2 minutes to 2 hours.

Fan Expo Canada in Toronto From August 23-26 is one of the top conventions in the world. I went last year Thursday night and Friday afternoon and found it pretty impressive.

http://www.fanexpocanada.com/

Two hours from Buffalo and 4 hours from Detroit.

This is probably as far I can make it to a con this year: http://www.knoxvillecomicanimecon.com/

And it is next Saturday, so I'm hoping to score some nice bronze age books, and maybe a silver age or two.

By the way, Mike and I met up at the Albany Comic Con and had a good time as usual.

I added Jim Starlin's autograph to my book and picked up a nice copy of Avengers 31.

As usual, the best part was lunch when Mike allowed me to drool over a stack of his amazing Action Comics. I think he took a pic... maybe he can post it.

I just purchased our tickets for NYCC. Today is the last day to do so, if you want them mailed to you. We are supposed to be taking the boat down to NYC again this year. It just got into the water September 1st.

We do. However, we are leaving 5 days earlier to spend a few days in the sound to visit Skypinkblu. Then, we are going up the Thames River in Connecticut for a few days, before heading to Manhattan to the con.

Being from the UK there arent many great conventions, London EXPO is probably one of the best but I cant make that this year due to money and health reasons.

I`d love to do a proper Comic Con, be it New York or San Diego, but the chances of me getting through for tickets is minimal right?

I have registered for next year on the off chance so you never know, I hope all who went to NYCC enjoyed it!

I'd recommend London Super Con in February.

Last year was it's first year and I greatly enjoyed it. I hope to be selling at the next one in February.

In a debate as to whether to go to this, just trying to find someone who would attend with me.

What are the panels like?
I`ve seen a few videos from last year and there seemed to be a lot of open unutilized space, was this the case?
Where there bargain pick ups to be had, as well as classic / slabbed books?

Thanks.
