Great lineup of books. I have never seen that Hi-Spot before--how's the art inside? The cover artist looks familiar for some reason, but can't put my finger on it.

Thanks Jon. The Hi-Spot 2 is really, really scarce, especially in anything other than low grade. The cover is by E.C. Stoner who did most of the Phantasmo covers for The Funnies. The David Innes/At the Earth's Core story is by ERB's son John Coleman Burroughs who did the art for the John Carter of Mars strip in The Funnies. Here's some of the interior art:

I think the Phantasmo covers are why the artist looks familiar. :righton: That is some really nice interior art and layouts. Thanks for the scans!

New pick up of a FR/GD Superman 11. This will probably be my first experience with restotration as it can sure use some work.

That looks like a Pop Hollinger book. Are you sure you want to restore it?

Congrats on the pickup... love those early Supes! Not sure about restoring it though, unless you mean taking a shot at just having the tape removed. My guess is this will likely be one of those cases where if you add the (probably quite substantial) cost to restore the book on top of the amount you paid to begin with, you'd be better off just buying a better copy.

I don't have any idea what restoration costs, although I'm not in it for the money. I figure with a few tear seals, a cover cleaing, tale removed and some leaf casting on the top of the spine I'd have a really nice looking comic.

Again, just my 2c... the work you're describing does sound somewhat on the pricey side, plus the color loss on the spine may well be substantial. I don't think you'd be looking at a high apparent grade without a lot of work. But anyhow, can't hurt to get an estimate and go from there. 'Grats again!

Jon's probably right on cost, but any color loss would just be solid yellow so that would help. Certainly worth asking Kenny about though.

Yeah, it's a nice little funnie book. I traded some pulps for it. This little cocktail napkin doodle came with it. :whistling:

I'd start with the Frazetta sketch ones first. The rest will be easier. :2cents:

Right, always go for the key ones first. Good call!

Well, it's not literally a cocktail napkin. Just a figure of speech. :)

It does have coffee stains though. Could potentially have Frazetta DNA. :wonder:
