I've had some form of Tivo/DVR for about 10 years and it would be very difficult to live without a DVR now.

By the way, Direct TV will be coming over in a week to set up my whole home DVR package. Two DVRs and I will be able to watch whatever is on either DVR in each room. :yipeeeee:

Remember what life was like before DVR's, canceling activities just so you wouldn't miss a show or you did miss an episode and was frustrated for a long time. :stircrazy:

I watched it! I was really impressed with it. I think they did a good job expanding on some of the personal relationships more and the ending, while not unexpected, was still suspenseful when watching.

Have any of you watched the webisodes they are doing? They are supposed to go into how some of the more memorable zombies got that way. The first set is focusing on the one in the park with her legs missing that Rick encounters right after leaving the hospital. It is the one he went back and killed before leaving town.

This is news to me... I'll have to check that out. :righton:

I'll have to download it. We finally cut the cord to cable and bought a HD antena. Can't believe how good it looks. We did keep the internet connection and signed up with Hulu plus. We really liked the DVR but didn't like the price.

The Walking Dead WEBISODES on AMC.
There are six total (2-3 minutes each). Well worth watching. :righton:

I'll second that. Although, the last one seemed a little...rushed(?) to get the end of the story in. Overall though, they make up about another regular episode and the idea behind it is really unique. I'm hoping they do the story of the first zombie off the bus in Atlanta that you see again next to the tank. Well worth it!

I finally watched the Season 2 premiere.

It was okay... but dare I say it was a little slow and boring?

:heckle:

No I can agree with you.. There are parts of me that like that they aren't staying directly with the books. My wife said that Walking Dead is my True Blood (She complains on how some of the stuff in the show doesn't happen in the books).

I09.com had a good review on the premier and I agreed with some of it. I agreed that it is kind of bad that I don't remember some of the characters' names. I know who Rick is and that is about it. Everyone else is Rick's wife/kid/friend, old guy, redneck, etc.

I can see where the character development would make a show seem slow. Having that show set in a Zombie apocalypse doesn't help because, lets face it, that is what we want to see anyway. I can see where this first episode had to show more of the relationships between the people though. With the buzz of the first season (if six episodes count as a season) they probably anticipated a lot of new viewers. This episode gave them a little bit of the background and a fair share of zombies to boot. I'd expect the action to be turned up in future episodes.

The show does seem slow but as mentioned because of character development plus the first season was only 6 episodes. Also it feels this way maybe because they fired the last group of writers and brought in new ones so may be they are feeling it out. My one friend said they where on track however based with the comics which I have not read.

The second season while starting out slow is starting to pick up. Really enjoyed Chupacabra since Daryl is one of my favourite characters in the series. It would suck to wake up and have a zombie chewing on your shoe lol .

I've enjoyed it thus far, but it has been a little slow. I was wondering why there are never any walkers attacking the ranch... looks like we might see why tonight. :applause:

The first half of season 2 is done and it went out strong! Nice finale on Sunday and I can't wait until February when it restarts.

SPOILER WARNING

I just knew Sophia was going to come out of that barn. While it wasn't a shock, it was very well done. The entire scene was quite gripping and they did a nice job of actually "humanizing" the walkers through Hershel.

I agree. SPOILER ALERT

I liked the whole ending scene with Shane pretty much flipping out and forcing their hands, Glen struggling with whether or not to join in, everyone watching as Sophie emerges, and finally Rick taking the responsibility to put her down. It was very well done. The sneak peek for the next episode during Hell on Wheels was pretty boring. It was just Shane and the group yelling at Hershel that he knew Sophie was in the barn and Hershel telling them that Otis took care of doing that so he didn't realize it. Pretty plain and predictable.

We are the only comics message board without a Walking Dead thread on the recent views... so I had to BUMP it.

What sucks is the season is over and they ended with the bad arse black chick (someone else can spell her name) making her first appearance. They even kept her pet zombies. Also, is that the prison in the last shot as they pull back?

Michonne :yipeeeee:
As seen in the comic book:

and, as seen in the final episode of season two:

She is reportedly going to be played by actress Danai Gurira

Yes, that was the prison in the final episode as well. Since I'm tossing pictures all over the place, here is a shot of that as well:

I'm really happy that season 2 ended so strong. that search for Sophia was so drawn out, and *edit* came so quickly (at least for me it did) that I was a little worried it would go out with a whimper instead of the BANG!!! that we received.

I'm really looking forward to Season 3. :spaz:

I could have used a spoiler alert on this. :baiting:

Sorry... I got excited and over shared. I've edited my original post and this quoted post, if you edit your quoted post from above, we can end this vicious circle. It's too late for you... but others may be saved.

I was a little concerned that the season got off to a slow start, but it really built up well and ended in spectacular fashion. I can't wait for season 3.

:applause:

Is it safe to say this is the all time best comic related TV show?

I would say yes.
However, I very much enjoyed the final season of Smallville... minus the very last episode.

Smallville was pretty good and with 10 seasons under its belt I think it has to be considered #1.
