I found this pile of Silver age, Bronze and moderns at a donation center, paid the $10. I am reading Iron man, Aria, Amazing Spider-man. But when I want to laugh, I go back to my old Calvin and Hobbes. Bill Watterson is great!

Well... you'll be disappointed to know the image (of the detectives) was used on the hardcover of vol. 1 :(

Yeah, I know. :(

Reading..well going to read...

Lot 13 (out next week)

http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/08/07/ ... nd-ghosts/

Im currently going through modern era Batman / Catwomen, i`m waiting on 1-3 of the 1990s Guardians of the Galaxy before I aim to plough through that series, and I have Infinity Gauntlet / Infinity War, Warlock and the Infinity Watch to subsidise that.

Also getting a few Thor books from Nick @ Comicana, so my times is occupied!

Think this month, going to concentrate on reading rather than buying. :)

Ahem , well I am concentrating on reading but I made a few purchases today but that's it for the next few weeks.

I will post some pictures in the relevant threads when my new purchases arrive, nothing spectacular though.

Can't wait to start Talon #0 and #1 when they get here this week.

Anyone here tracking this new Image series called Bedlam by Nick Spencer? It has great advance buzz... the book debuts tomorrow, but is already sold out at the distributor level with a second printing on the way. I'm looking forward to the read...

I was reading about that but had a choice between that and "Ghosts" , decided to go with "Ghosts" as its a one off with several different artists.

I don't know this title, and googling didn't get me there... Got a link?

Spencer has also described the premise as “What if the Joker was 'cured' and decided to use his knowledge of the inner workings of the criminal mastermind to help stop psychopaths instead?” Intriguing concept methinks. Cool covers too (the dreaded variant covers abound with this title, but I actually like these variants a lot).

Ghosts #1

So as previously mentioned, I recieved and read this yesterday. Enjoyed the majority of it , i`m wary of what to put as I dont want to spoil anything for anyone! A couple of the stories I found to be quite slow in pace, one in paticular but the artwork throughout is great, especially as it has such a mixture. I didnt know at the time of purchase but it also contains Joe Kubert`s last comic artwork, and they`ve printed it un-inked, but it looks great.

If anyone has any questions about this book, im happy to help, just didnt want to go into too much detail incase there are potential readers in here.

yas my friend told me about it, looked up on ebay and very expensive, then when usual store i frequent there had copies up, they all sold out straight away!

Anyway I went to Forbidden Planet London and picked up a copy and also their exclusive variant as well, both are hand signed by writer and artist respectively, i dunno if all issues are like this, as some of issues i saw had mixed in black ink and silver marker, and had like smudge marks here and there.

I really like the american variants though

I back tracked and picked up a signed copy of Bedlam #1 for £2.40, bargain.

Last week or so I`ve read quite a bit:

Lot 13 #1 - enjoyed this, although there are some lazy errors in the writing, example: the woman says she is 36 with a 17 year old but has been saving for her house for 30 years since she moved in with her husband, but some of the art is good, the last page is great and I think #2 will be a substantial improvement as #1 was more of a "scene setter".

Talon #0 & #1 - As mentioned in the "Batman" thread, read these after finally sourcing a Batman #4 which allowed me to finish "Court of Owls" (incidently what a story line!!). Enjoyed them a lot, the only gripe would be that I wouldnt have had the character return to Gotham so quickly but Im really looking forward to see where they go with this.

Currently reading volume 1 of Guardians of the Galaxy.

I just finished the entire Avengers Vs. X-Men run (including all the crossovers). Then I read the first 3 TPB of Locke & Key - waiting to start number 4.

Issue #1 is great, Mad Redder is possibly more twisted than the Joker. I added it to my pull list so #2 should be here tomorrow or Thursday.

Titles I'm reading these days:

Bedlam
Thief of Thieves
Batman
other Bat-titles (some of the Death of the Family x-overs)
Walking Dead (in TPB form)

...maybe not a lot by some folks' standards, but this is by a mile the most new titles I've followed since the 1980s.

My pull ( reading ) list consists of :

Batman
Bedlam
Catwoman
Clone
Colder
Detective Comics
Lot 13
Talon

Although Colder and Clone depend on how much I like the first issues. I also tend to pick up a few random issues, this month it's been some earlier Justice League, Flash and Indestructible Hulk.

Paticularly looking forward to this anthology in January though:

Dia De Los Muertos

Might be up your street to Boozad?

Does anyone read Catwoman from the New 52?

I do, but its getting progressively worse, to the point where I`m debating culling it off the pull list. I think I am going to give it two more issues #15 and #16, as there not DoTF crossovers to see if the new team can change my opinion, but its just not a good read anymore, and there is a lot more stuff on the market that interests me.

Image have some great stuff out now, and some fantastic looking solicitations for the next few months.

Also, just picked up, and awaiting delivery of Revival #1 - #5 from Image, I have also reserved the TPB of the same series as it was a bargain price. Really looking forward to it, and I want to pick up Saga, but missed the boat on the single issues so will wait for the TPB to appear at a fair.

I read #13 just because of the DOTF crossover/cover... another bait-and-switch, sigh. I did think the art was nice to look at, but I agree, the story didn't wow me quite enough to continue on.
