I can't believe the price of tickets for one day at Disney World and the adult price starts at age 10! With Marvel now under Disney (at least I think they are) they should never go under again with the prices Disney is charging.

Adult starts at 10? That's nuts. Does that mean they can drink beer?

We are planning our first Disney trip next spring. My daughter will be 5 and my son will be 3. We are figuring it will run about 4 grand for the week (including airfare).

For a family of four it shouldn't be that bad (still expensive). I had to rent a van (six people) which cost more than a lux. car! My wife will probably hurt me for this...but I wonder if there's any good LCSs in Orlando? :sinister:

You should time the trip to coincide with MegaCon.

Tell me about renting a van. We were looking to do it last year for a weekend trip. 4 days and three nights for a minivan rental was like $750. :yowza: :screwy:

My in-laws live about 45 minutes north of Orlando and when I went to visit them I found a pretty decent shop in Dunnellon called 7th Inning Stretch Sportscards, Comics, & Gaming. They had a really decent selection with their Bronze and Silver being behind the counter. I didn't notice if they had much Golden Age though. The 1980's+ were only $1.00 but it was hit or miss on condition and whether or not the comic would have a bag much less a board. I think on Sunday all the $1.00 books were half-price.

It looks like it would take about an hour from Orlando though.

I almost forgot about this one. Coliseum of Comics in Kissimmee was really good to! They have some Orlando stores but I didn't go to those. They have a very large selection of comics, graphic novels, and TPB's. They also have a room with books that are only $1.00. I especially liked the full-sized movie Hulk statue! It would be quite a bit closer to Orlando. If you have kids, there is a store across the street where they can go play video games by the hour. Hope this helps! :righton:

What a small world! I went to elementary school in Dunnellon. Lived there untill I was eleven and moved to Inverness. I would have never thought Dunnellon would ever have had a LCS. Of course we lived in one of the first 20 houses ever built in Citrus Springs (long time ago). I will plan on checking out the shop in Kissimmee since that's where we'll be - Thanks!

When I was in Kissimmee, I accidently called the same guy twice about Actions. He was a little cranky the second time. He is also very much opposed to CGC. I can't remember his name at the moment.

Greg is a renowned CGC Basher. He's an old school dealer... been around quite a while and has a reputation for not being too skilled with restoration detection. I would not put him in the Richie Muchin category, but I would check any book I got from him very carefully for restoration.

What about Dunnellon? I agree that it is a small town and I also was quite surprised to find a store out there. For its size, the store is really well stocked. While I was in there the owner was talking to CGC about arranging a visit to get some key books graded. When I asked about an Incredible Hulk #1 (it was worth a shot :dunno: ) he said he did have some of the Marvel keys but not that one. Off topic Alert...

I was in a small used bookstore once in Ogallala, Nebraska and they had a Tales of Suspense #39. It wasn't for sale. The owner just wanted to show everyone that he had it. :notsure:

Back to the regularly scheduled response...

As I mentioned earlier the back issue boxes were really a hit or miss endeavor but he did have a lot of them. If you need a Beavis & Butthead #1 I think there were about 20. ;) I didn't get a chance to look at the Bronze & Silver that were in boxes behind the counter though. Also the selection of sports cards, RPG's, and CCG's were really good considering the size of the town. I wanted to eat at Stumpy's by the river and take a boat ride but my wife had had enough adventure for the day so we didn't.

Overall it was nicer than I expected it to be.

Oh, nope. I was just visiting my in-laws. I am originally from the D.C. area and moved out to the Midwest.

Went to Coliseum of comics. I could have stayed there a few hours - lots of great comics. Didn't buy much (had to save money for Disney and Universal) and the prices were high compared to what I can get on Ebay. I was also specifically looking for a decent copy of ASM #26 or 34. They had a #34 for $30 but it was a good with a nasty crease in the cover. The crease was folded over horizontally through the cover (they hadn't even bothered to unfold it). Nice store though.

I spent most of my time looking in the dollar boxes so didn't really price out their "regular" books. It certainly is a lot bigger than what it looks like from the outside. I went to it twice while I was down there. I liked it. It is weird that they wouldn't unfold the crease though. :??? You would think that it would at least present better if they did.
