I didn't see the crease in the LRHC when I said 8.0. That being said, I have seen CGC 9.4 books with bent over overhangs.

Pat, I was making a joke that apparently was misunderstood. What I was trying to say is that one needs to be a Magician in order to accurately grade a book from a scan because there are so many things you cannot see without actually holding the book in your hands, at least I have come to realize this on so many occasions over the years. :peace:

BTW.... take a look at this book. It looks great in hand... and other than the small set of vertical color breaking creases in the upper right corner... it's gorgeous. CGC pounded the hell out of it when they graded it in April of 2006. That's why Zip's Avengers 16 would be a CGC 5.5.

Sold to me by Stuart DeGraff (NoChips) as a NM 9.2 in Sept of 2005. He was a little off. I was pretty stunned too. That was pretty much the end of my bothering to submit to CGC.

A severe CGC beatdown on one book shouldn't set the precedent for every book that follows thereafter. I'm sure this CGC 7.0 looks better than 95% of other books sporting 7.0 labels.

I'd crack it out... unless there is a flaw other than the light crease URC, it was a bad miss.

It wasn't an isolated incident. The whole group I sent in got hammered.

Purchased from Stuart as a 9.2......

I'm not saying they are....I just think that it's simply another reminder that CGC's grading can be inconsistent.
