Ah yes, Deathlok's defunct blog. Thanks! And I do remember that thread on the CGC boards. Too bad Alan Flenard doesn't seem to post much anymore. Good guy.

Thanks, gentlemen.

I've shown these before, but here are a couple of books from my small Green River DC War collection....

Still not sure if this is a GR or not, but it's still pretty striking...

Some nice books. The dino covers are some of my favourites along with any of the diver ones. Some of my favourites I have grabbed.

Yep that is a very cool cover. The bright yellow background is pretty cool.

I wonder if this scene is happening at sunset or sunrise?

This thread needs a bump. Beautiful copy of a big-time book, Richard! Many thanks to the others who've taken the time to post their treasures as well.

I'll try to get some scans together, myself.

Here's a nice high grade copy of SSWS #38, Russ Heath's first DC war art.

Thanks for the kind words, guys! I'll have lots more to post when time permits.

The GIC 87 is my favourite cover of all. Great Russ Heath classic cover! :yipeeeee:

My youngest son is getting interested in the older war comics. Maybe I'll pick some of those up, crack 'em out, and let him have at them. :omfg: :screwy: Nah! Nice books by the way!

Thanks!

For your youngest son, I would definitely consider getting a small group of DC war readers. Great art, great stories, can't go wrong. :righton:

Already have! :righton: I picked up a misc. War lot at a local auction house and he has been reading those. It had a mix of Marvel, DC, Charlton, etc.

Actually, the auction house messed up Sgt. Fury's name TWICE in it's brochure. It listed the titles as Nick Ferry and Sgt. Furry. :argh:

For the record, Sgt. Rock is my favorite anyway. I scored his third appearance in that lot! :yipeeeee:
