Here is one that came today! I just couldn't resist the cover on this one. I'm bummed about the writing on the cover, but the rest of the book looks great.

Great pickup! :applause:

:greatbook:

PWOG has the bug!

Nice book that presents very well. The pencil has minimal impact on eye appeal or grade IMO.

Only EC could make a sexy drowning/strangulation cover. :applause: :yowza:

Thanks! I agree, I think the cover is so striking that the title and therefore the writing kind of disappears...

Oh and I do have the bug. :stircrazy:

I don't think the writing detracts at all. Great book! Oh, and they have medication for that bug of yours...

I find that arrival dates on comics actually add a lot to them. I'm guessing that the corner store wrote that on the cover when the comic arrived in the 50s. For lower grade readers I think the arrival dates actual add something to the book. Afterall, these were meant to be read.

Speaking of writing, some guy scribbled his name on this one, but I think I can live with it.

My first and only EC comic just in a few weeks ago. If I'd seen the missing BC corner I wouldn't have purchased it, but that's what I get for not asking for a scan.

Ditto, great pickups all! :applause:

Weird Fantasy #21 is one of my favorite ECs of all time. Fantastic cover and stories (the Bradbury one in particular).

I've always thought that Haunt of Fear had a really nice cover. Love the details, the rich use of black inks by Ingels and the old European feel to the setting. Seeing a higher-grade copy makes me want to get one, too.
