This is a great cover! The little "s" on Subby's belt is just the right touch and I love how the anti-flame liquid looks like it uses a bullet to shoot it out. This is a heck of a lot of flame for a little puff of liquid.

Mystic Comics 4 has an awesome cover. :applause: I really wish modern books had such detailed, action oriented covers.

Fantastic collection, Point Five. :righton:

Thanks guys! :righton:

Here's an All-Winners #5 (missing its back cover... how could you, Harry?). Cool WWII Cap cover.

Marvel Mystery #39, 1943. One of those great "widescreen movie" battle scene covers that Schomburg excelled at. Amazing layout and detail. (Hey, anyone got a #40 or #44 for sale?)

Marvel Mystery #50. Insane Japanese war cover by Schomburg. This was slabbed as a CGC 3.0 restored, with label noting that it's from Nicolas Cage's collection... my brush with greatness. :)

 That is pretty ironic, never thought of that. (And I guess Alex S didn't either!)

Here's the last of my Timelys... Young Allies #8, a fantastic war cover by Schomburg. The condition of this one is intriguing... it has some odd trimming of the cover overhang edges for no apparent reason, and an interior coupon cut from an ad page. It's now raw but I bought it slabbed, and somewhere I have a CGC label telling me it's a worthless restored 1.0... which is ironic, as it's probably the nicest GA book I own. It looks and feels like a VF in hand, and the pages are white!

I can see why you de-slabbed it. Great looking book (really nice colors) and it looks much nicer than a 1.0.

Well, I'm sorry to see the Timelys end but I can't wait for the next grouping to begin!

Thanks a lot guys. :) Next up, I'll post some Schomburg Nedors from the late 40s. There are some fab covers there as well.

Really nice looking book. I'd take 1.0s like this all day long.

OK, here come the Nedors!

Here's a beautiful and uncommon Schomburg GGA cover with the alluring Miss Masque. Love the colors on this one.

Here's Wonder Comics #16. One of the cool things about Schomburg is that he could work in such distinctly different styles. For most of his Nedor covers, he used an airbrush to achieve these lovely soft tones and pastel colors... very different from his Timely work, and perfect for GGA covers.

That is a great cover, although I don't think I've seen a shark with gills on the belly before. Seeing all these old covers make me want to put together what I call a "comic rack" collection. That would be one where you buy all the comics that would have been on a comic rack for a particular month. It would give you an idea of the choices a kid back then had to make on where to spend his dime.
