That's right, these are from 1944 and were printed with just one staple to save on metal.

Here's Rangers #27, another great war cover. There's something about these bright orange Fiction House covers I really like. You don't see many comics with these color schemes today... And on this issue it's back to two staples, go figure.

Here's one more Rangers. This is one of the toughest issues to find, and I foolishly sold a nicer copy way too cheap before realizing that. This copy is missing its centerfold, but it's a nice placeholder that I'm happy to have scored. Wild cover!

On to Fight Comics. I've just got a few left. Here's #42. The color strike on this one is amazing!

One of the challenges of Fiction House collecting is that some copies have really weak cover colors, especially the reds & oranges which often fade back to a pale orange. It's a fun challenge to find the bold ones that still look vibrant, regardless of their technical grades.

Welcome back! You're right there is something about the orange covers. The #37 looks great!

Fight Comics #35, great 'topless native' war cover... :whistling: Another Joe Doolin classic.

I've always liked that cover from the first time I saw it; (is that wrong). I'm trying to remember where I saw it first, as it wasn't too long ago...

Yep, it's a really cool cover, with an unusual color palette. Fight #31 (decapitation cover) probably gets the most love, but this is one of my favorites. Tough one to find too.

One more Fight, just picked up. Another cool cover, and geez, no 'damsels in distress' here! 8-)

Now on to Planet Comics! :righton:
OK, go ahead, make fun of the condition of this book. I can take it. But it's a friggin' Planet #10, and a cool book from cover to cover (or at least what's left of the covers).

I'm not going to make fun of this book. Once again, I am astounded by the books in your collection. I do not have any Planet Comics. I love the Planet covers.

Thanks. :righton: You should see the collections of the CGC Gold Forum folks, they dwarf what I have here. But I appreciate the kind words as always!

The Planets really are awesome books, inside and out. I particularly like the early ones... I'd love some of the single-digit issues, but they do get expensive. Got a few more coming up though...

Planet #18. This one's missing the centerfold, but a cool cover nonetheless! Artist Dan Zolnerowich did some terrific covers for Fiction House in their early years.

Great colors on #21. Love the rocket ship on fire in the background.

Sorry... been a bit too busy to post much lately. But I'm hopeful this massive shark babe will help to make up for it.

Mine too! :righton:

This cover is by cult fave artist Lily Renée. She's remarkable for many reasons, among them that she was a female artist active in the 1940s and that she's still alive today. She's done a flurry of interviews in the last few years, well worth a Google and read.
