I have a huge list over at mycomicshop, but no way of sharing it, sadly. I'm looking into pretty much anything, but I really like Sentry, Nova, Iron Fist, and Vision, to name a few.

"Welcome! What other Marvel books do you collect?"

I haven't really had an opportunity to look into collecting anything specific yet. My grandfather gave me a quite a large amount of comics to look through, and I took any that I thought looked interesting.

"Cheers, welcome Filmmoth."

Thanks. I should mention that my name is Logan. Like wolverine. lol

This is pretty exciting right here. Getting asked questions about my collection makes me feel special, to put it all out there.

Welcome Filmmoth (Logan)

This is a great time to get into reading and collecting comic books. There are a lot of good stories available.

Something I did for myself that may work for you as well (and something I try to pass along as often as I can because it is often overlooked) is visiting your local public library. Mine, for example, carries a great deal of Trade Paper Backs (or TPB... which are basically collected editions of comic titles usually containing 6 or so issues of a particular comic) and all can be checked out for FREE!!! It's a good way to explore different titles with out having to deal with the cost of buying something that may look good, but not really be to your liking.

Feel free to post to your hearts content. The collectors on this forum are top notch, respectable, and have a combined knowledge about the hobby that is second to none.

+1. TPBs are a great way to go and catch up on the classic story arcs from many titles.

That's a good idea. I don't really think about the library when I think of comic books.

I also haven't given Wolverine much thought, but the more I think, the more interesting he seems. I read an Image comics crossover thing with him that really sucked, and that was my only experience with him, sadly.

Hi, my name is Andrew, a forty something collector. My focus is soon going to shift a bit. I have just finished a SA Daredevil run from 1-53 (in fact I am awaiting delivery on the last 3 issues I need for the run). The vast majority of the run is in 7.0 or better. What attracted me to DD is the underdog status of the title. The #1 is of course the lowest price Marvel key. I was also interested in DD because he is blind. The notion of a super-abled dis-abled hero is intriguing to me. Instead of randomly buying whatever triggers my impulse to buy an old stapled together bunch of paper, I have been thinking about my next focus. I think I am going to try for a run of the Strange Tales keys (101,107,110,114 135 etc.).

Hi all,

My name is Niro, exactly in my mid-twenties. I started interest in comics way back when i was like 11, and have been on and off couple of times, my interest has again ignited but I intend to concentrate on just a few titles (x-men and batman) and build up a collection which contains the key/important issues (these also tend to be the most collectible). I enjoyed browsing the forums past week or so, found out a lot of info about comic collecting (especially in storage, I am off after work tomorrow to buy half back boards and comic boxes) so I decided to join =)

I do not have much of note in my collection, except a couple dozen bronze age DC titles, which my dad's friend kindly gave to me when I was younger, but sadly quite a few of these are in pretty poor condition =(

but anyway I hope to continue reading and posting on these forums for a long time =)

Welcome Niro. I am a big X-Men fan and I have a decent Batman (1980's - modern) collection as well. I am currently focusing on completing my UXM.

Welcome to our new members. Hope you enjoy the forums here, and feel free to post questions or comments. There is a solid amount of useful imformation here, and a collective that should be able to help in your journey. I like the SA Daredevil collection as well, and the Strange Tales run is a good time. Batman!! We all know how I feel about Batman, but keep away from the Detectives, theyre mine!

So... Hello!

My name is Kieran, I a returning collector of sorts! Im from Liverpool, England but when I was a kid my Auntie owned a Comic Store in Canada so I used to get boxes of comics sent over. Unfortunately being 6/7, I didnt take great care of them, so dont have many of those orginals left.

However, I made a decision, somewhat randomly, to return to collecting earlier in the summer when I managed to bag 23 issues of L.E.G.I.O.N for a meagre sum of £0.99 on eBay. Since then I have amased a small collection, with a pretty diverse mixture.

I have several books from the 1970s including Iron Man, Black Panther, Jungle Action, and the 80s including The Flash, Thor, Amazing Spiderman and The Avengers.

A lot of my collection focuses on the 1990s I am a few issues off completing the entire run of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 1. I have the mini series of Infinity (Gauntlet, Wars, Crusade etc), and several other 90s books like Galactic Guardians, Sensational Spiderman, Silver Surfer and Ghost Rider.

Modern day wise, I am to get the rest of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, I only have a few issues, and I am currently collecting Batman and Catwomen from DC`s New 52, although I am a few issues off the complete run as it is.

What books do I want? Well besides completing the run(s) of Guardians of the Galaxy, I am always on the look out for a decent copy of Hulk 271, I have missed it by pennies numerous times on eBay, I`d like the four issue series of Rocket Raccoon and I would also love an Iron Man 55 but the expense of that is proving a pipe dream at the moment.

Im also a massive Batman fan, probably through the old "Brave and the Bold", so i`d let to get a few more issues of Batman from the 80s/90s, especially key arcs.

So I think thats a pretty thorough introduction right?! :D

Hello Kieran,

Welcome! I think we all have stories of the books we had in our youth that are no longer with us - who knew?

It sounds like you're off to a good start. My collection is all over the place, but I am focused mostly on the X-Men. I am in the daunting process of completing my Uncanny X-men run. I also have a bunch of (modern) Batman key arcs (in my view).

This is a great community. Have fun and join in.

Paul

Hi, thanks for the welcome.

The mixture is so diverse, as I started trying to replace the books I'd had as a child which was a bit of a scatter gun approach! The boxes I used to be sent used to be random, I have become a lot more "focused", well I like to think. Example, I bought some early(ish) Iron Man (Issue 87-90) due to them featuring Thanos and Drax. At the moment I'm only really on the lookout to complete Guardians Volume 1 of which I'm about 8 issues off but can't find them ANYWHERE!

Again, thanks for the welcome and hopefully I'll drop by regularly. I'm a bit of a lurker!

WTTB Kieran.

I have lost and found and then lost my focus so many times over the years  ... but it is fun.

Good luck and feel free to share your experiences.

It's a good time to be a Batman fan ... the current (Scott Snyder) title is better than ever, and frankly, the 80s/90s books are cheaper than ever. :righton: Welcome, Kieran!

I sold all of my DC books which included a few of the Adams Bats (I traded #232 to Zipper) and I've been picking up nicer copies lately.
