Re: Monkeyman's Super Loooooow Grade Superman Collection

A new, VG copy of Superman 21. The spine is pretty rough with splits at the top and bottom and there's some tanning on the pages, but still pretty nice.

There were never really a whole lot of people posting on this site, and a lot of what there was came from the members of the board. The original members who created the CBCA tried to had off management last year to a second generation, but no one wanted to step up and take over. Since most of us "fo...

You could contact FlyingDonut on the CGC chat boards. He is in Chicago and as a part-time dealer my give you a good price for the whole collection.

I've never heard of these before. Funny that they don't hyphenate Spider-Man on the first one. I guess they do hyphenate Daredevil on the second because they've broken it over two lines.

Worf is the first Klingon main character to appear in Star Trek, and has appeared in more Star Trek franchise episodes than any other character.

I've started rewatching the series on Netflix and was surprised to learn that Tasha Yar was killed in the 22nd episode of season 1. She certainly made a lasting impression for someone who died so early on.

Re: What else do you collect?

I attended the Montreal Comiccon again this year and blitzed Start Trek: TNG autographs. I had a chance to get two more Battlestar Gallactica autographs, but at $50 to $65 each there's only so many I can afford. http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q128/mmcmurray/Autographs/BrentSpiner_zps58ff43b7.jpg

Re: Not uber high grade Silver

Yeah... black marker hits to hide creases along the spine. Never noticed it may years ago when first purchased.

Date stamps / notations don't bother me at all.
I agree with this. I find that date stamps add something to the comic.

Not a lot of GGA covers from EC, but I think that this qualifies as a woman in distress.

There is quite a bit of info on Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scorchy_Smith" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It looks like this was a newspaper strip that was reprinted in Famous Funnies in the 30s and 40s and again in the 1970s. The issue you have is Australian.

That is a crazy cover. I think that Biro is underappreciated, although I don't find the art on this cover to be that great.

A woman in my office who doesn't know comics, but is a big Star Wars fan saw it this weekend and thought it was good. I'll have to get to it soon.

I've noticed a bunch of Fear 19s for sale on the CGC Boards at pretty high prices. Is this because of the Howard the Duck appearance at the end?

Re: Steve Borock Creates New Comic Book Grading Company

Btw, is this subject taboo on the CGC boards? I haven't been are regular there in a while, but I do skim on occasion and haven't seen any discussion of it.
There was a big thread about it when the announcement first came out, but nothing since. Maybe CGC doesn't want it discussed on their boards.

Re: Steve Borock Creates New Comic Book Grading Company

Not crazy about that idea. It's like piling another subjective assessment on top if what is already a somewhat subjective grading assessment.
Yep, I had the same reaction. :dunno: Oh well!
To me the miswrap makes this book present worse than the grade.

Try the Hush storyline from a fee years ago by Jim Lee. The Killing Joke is also a classic and I like anything by Jeph Loeb & Tim Sale. These lists of the Top 25 are pretty good. http://ca.ign.com/articles/2014/04/10/the-25-greatest-batman-graphic-novels" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false...

I guess that I'd consider a repro cover if it presented itself, but I don't really need them. My experience is that even supposed high quality repos aren't that good.

Yep, auction houses are probably the best way to go for GA. James Payette has a pretty good inventory or raw, low grade comics.
