Re: I Press Comics?

Yep. It is what it is... the ship has sailed.

As a collector you must accept the fact that there is a high probability any high grade book has been pressed. If this is a deal breaker, you have no choice but to find another hobby. Money beats purists.

Re: I Press Comics?

My goodness... there is even a "Comic Book Pressers Club" group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1448741 ... 6/members/

This is quite the cottage industry. There must be hundreds of so-called "professional pressers" going at it.

Re: I Press Comics?

It really doesn't seem to be causing the ferver that it did just a few years back. I suspect there is probably a strong generational component involved in the pro vs anti pressing debate. The millennials and those who got into the hobby when eBay took off just don't have the same purist attitude th...

Re: Not uber high grade Silver

Reviewing these older posts. All so nice. I want to re-read all these comics. I've been going through some forgotten stacks of stuff I obtained during various buying splurges over the past 15 years. Some cool stuff I totally forgot about! This is the problem with buying sprees... you are often not ...

I Press Comics?

Found this page on Facebook. "I press comics" out of Rochester, NY. Any idea who this is? The Facebook page has been inactive since last year. https://www.facebook.com/ipresscomics/timeline I haven't been as active in the hobby for the past 2 or 3 years and haven't kept up with all the drama. I take...

Re: Pressing Experiment Results

All I seem to hear these days is collectors wanting to learn pressing or to find out where the nearest presser is. Not just in the forums where the bigger books circulate but in little comic groups with the people who just pick up the cheap books too. Really depressing. Yep. It has regrettably beco...

Agreed. Between the cost if slabbing, shipping and insurance I don't see how you'd make much money slabbing.

Just post it with large clear pictures and if it is in decent condition, you will get a fair price.

Very nice, mike. Get Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes and you have all the major characters!

I have very fond memories if STTNG. A great show I remember enjoying immensely when it first ran.

Really need a sharp, bright scan to be more definitive.

From what I see here it could be in the upper end of the VF range, but there could be hidden defects we can't see in these pics.

Yeah... black marker hits to hide creases along the spine. Never noticed it may years ago when first purchased.

Date stamps / notations don't bother me at all.

Re: Not uber high grade Silver

Finally got around to upgrading my FF 24. As some may know, I have a complete run of Fantastic Four. A while back, I discovered my copy of 24 had some marker hits and I've wanted to replace it for a while. Not uber high grade, but pleasing enough to do the job and no marker hits. http://img.photobuc...

Re: Post your EC Comics here!

Thanks, Jon. The seller used a dark iPhone pic that didn't do it any justice. I was pleasantly surprised in hand it looks much better than advertised.

I noticed both of our copies have a slight miscut... Narrower at the bottom than the top. Slight diagonal cut on right edge.

I bought this earlier this year, but just got to scanning it. An uncommon book in any grade, let alone acceptable. Took me quite a while to find a copy of this... Cheyenne Kid 10. Steve Ditko (cover only) does Custer's Last Stand. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/zipper68/Comics/CheyenneKid10_...

Re: Post your EC Comics here!

I have to admit that I too have become more cover-centric in recent years. But that's why ECs are great, you can enjoy them on many levels. They are fun books inside and out. Another similar classic-cover issue I'd like to find a decent copy of is Shock Suspenstories #6. I think you were smart to l...

I love these later CSS issues, and even besides the cover the interior stories are very cool. Absolutely. I read all my ECs and I have almost full runs through the Gladstone/Gemstone reprints done in the 90s. You touched on an important point. The hobby has really changed in the last 10 - 15 years ...
