" Nope there will be no competition for CGC because, honestly, no one cares as long as there is money in it for everyone. That is simply untrue, or at best an inaccurate generalization. The primary reason as to why there is no competition for CGC is because the profit margin is not great enough to ...

Re: What else do you collect?

Here is the cover of my beat copy which belonged to my grandmother when she was a kid. The inscription in the front shows that the book was a Christmas present in 1916 to my grandmother from, believe it or not, her Aunt May and Uncle Ben. Wow... that is really nice. What a wonderful family memento....

http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa315/esquirecomics/DSCN2442.jpg So how does one play "Bull In a China Shop"? :) I haven't played it yet but it looks like you set up bowling pins within the box and then spin a top and try to knock all the pins down. I think the box cover illustration may be more...

Re: What else do you collect?

I have to share this latest purchase!!!!! This is my first major foray into the world of movie poster collecting. While I own a number of posters none are really significant, just cool. This one really tickled my fancy, for the following reasons: (1) It is a Disney poster. In fact, one of the earli...

Re: What else do you collect?

I saw you posted these on FB. That's a pretty cool backstory to your Disney poster. Out of curiosity, what piqued your interest in movie posters? That's a good question. I've been interested in them for year but hesitated b/c I didn't know the values or have the wall space (they're so darn big!!). ...

Here is a cool item. It is a 1950 Superman hood ornament that could be either attached to a car or bicycle. Not too many of these still around! And nicely displayed among just a few of my books on comics. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa315/esquirecomics/DSCN2242.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com...

I also collect military posters that relate to espionage or Judaism. This is a WWI poster from the Jewish Welfare Board. What made it particularly interesting to me is that my grandfather, who was a Rabbi during WWII and liberated Dachau, worked for the Jewish Welfare Board for years. http://i197.ph...

Re: So ...

We need to have a better and organized presence at Comic Conventions. Frankly, we need to get a table, even if only for a part-time presence, but the problem is manpower. I always bring about 100 CBCA flyers with me and distribute them at dealers' tables but that is not enough. I would also like to ...

Summer and fall are bad times for me personally/professionally otherwise I'd suggest sooner...
